You’re six months old today and started crawling a week ago! It started as an army crawl and today you were getting up on your knees to start a full crawl. I’m sure you’ll have it down in a couple of weeks. You are so strong and can’t stay still!
You’re the sweetest thing. You’re always happy and willing to flash your million dollar, albeit gummy, smile. You love your sister. Whenever she gets anywhere near you, you smile, laugh and/or coo. You are happiest when she’s around, which is pretty much all the time. You’re pretty fond of Tess too. I’m totally looking forward to all the fun you and your sister are going to have together. Sure, there will be fights along the way, but I have a feeling the two of you are going to be best friends.
Your personality is really starting to shine through. You’re a laid back, go with the flow, happy go lucky baby. I guess its kind of hard to be much else with Siri running the show! You are a total ray of sunshine in our lives. I love you so much.
6 month stats:

You’re 5 months old and getting stronger every day! You’re rolling all over the place and it looks like it won’t be long before you’re crawling. You’re Dad and I are amazed by how strong you are! It looks like you’ll be ready to eat soon too! You’re constantly trying to grab at everything we eat or drink. You love to play with just about any toy you see. You can’t sit still, even when we’re holding you. The only time you’re not on the go is when you’re sleeping.
You have the best smile. And your little belly laugh melts my heart. Sometimes when your Dad is holding you or if you’re in your exersaucer I’ll look over at you and catch you staring at me. Then you’ll flash me the best toothless grin and bat your eyes. You’re going to be such a flirt! You have such a laid back personality.
You love your sister. You watch her constantly and try to grab her. She loves it – except when you grab a handful of her hair and don’t let go! You smile at her all the time. You’ve also started to take an interest in Tess. She’ll really be in for it when you and Siri are both chasing after her.
You are such a wonderful addition to our family. Even though you’ve only been with us for 5 months it’s hard to remember what things were like without you. You’ve made our family that much more complete. I love you so much. I love that you love to cuddle when you’re sleepy. You love when I play with your hair and when I lightly kiss and touch your face when you’re just about to fall asleep. You are the sweetest (but toughest!) little boy.
Happy 4 months! Today was your 4-month checkup. You’re 16 pounds and 26.5” long! You’re a big boy! Not really chubby- but very tall! You’re in the 80th percentile for weight and the 92nd percentile for height.
You are so alert! You rolled over from your back to your tummy a couple of times in the past month and you always seem ready to get a move on! You love grabbing at and holding toys and you always make the funniest, most serious faces when you’re focusing on a toy. You’re thinking so hard!
You’re a very particular baby and if you’re not happy about something you’ll let whomever is taking care of you know it! But you rarely ever act like that with me. You’re always content and happy when you’re with me. Although you’re particular, if you have been fed and you’ve slept you are the happiest baby I’ve ever seen! You smile the biggest smiles and you’ll smile for just about everyone. You laughed for the first time a couple of weeks ago when I was kissing your tummy. Really, I’ve never seen a baby smile as much as you do. Those smiles are the best!
You’re growing closer with Siri each day. Every morning when I bring her downstairs (you’re usually already up) she’ll go straight over to where you are and say “Hi” and you give her one of those big smiles. You’ve started reaching out to touch her, to her delight, and I love seeing these early interactions between the two of you. I know you two will be the best of friends.
My sweet little boy! It’s amazing how my heart has grown since you arrived. You are a strong little guy. When I was pregnant with you, I had a feeling you were a boy and that you would be strong -you had a super kick!
When you were born, I told the doctor that I wanted your dad to tell me if you were a boy or a girl (just like he did when Siri was born). I was looking up at your dad waiting for him to tell me. I heard the doctors and nurses saying how much hair you had and your dad looked back at me- later he told me he was going to tell me how much hair you had too but then he remembered he had to see if you were a boy or girl- so he turned back to look and then he said, without looking at me, but staring at you ‘it’s a boy!’ I could hear the emotion in his voice. He was so proud to have a son.
You were a big boy and still are! You were 8lbs 9oz and 23” long at birth, although I think they might have measured a little off because at your 1 month checkup you were still 23” and 11lbs 7 oz. At your 2 month appointment you were 24” and 14lbs. You’re wearing size 6 months! You started rolling from your tummy to your back at 5 weeks. Your sister didn’t until almost 4 months, so your dad and I were shocked when you did. I thought it was a fluke, but then you kept doing it. Now you’re close to rolling from tummy to back. You move and shift so much in your crib at night. When you wake up in the middle of the night I’ll go in to get you and rather than finding you how I left you in the middle of your crib, you’re turned the other way up against the front of the crib! I have no idea how you do that while you’re swaddled. Since you have so much hair, you’ve been getting these little knots in the back of your hair, and I think all of that shimmying is doing it!
You started smiling at 4 weeks, just like your sister. You smile ALL of the time! I can’t believe how much you smile. And they are the best, happiest smiles. They make my day. Siri will walk up to you while you’re in your swing and you’ll give her a big smile too! I know you’re just waiting to chase after her and play with her.
I look forward to every day with you.
